SERVICES FOR GROUPS

Read testimonials from organizations who have been to our centre and book an experience for your group

Services for Schools & Community Organizations

Our 24 acre farm is equipped to host groups small or large, for participants of varying ages and abilities. We have previously welcomed groups from specialized schools, mainstream schools, community groups, daycamp special activities, and much more. We offer one-time or recurring visits for groups in our therapeutic riding and equine assisted learning (groundwork) programs, or in equine assisted occupational therapy (hippotherapy).

Scroll through some testimonials from organizations and schools that have visited our centre or see below for how to plan your visit!

"This is the third year that Lethbridge Layton Mackay Rehabilitation Centre has been bringing a group of clients with varying disabilities to the Hippotherapy program at Enfants en Équi-Libre. We have seen improvements in our client's balance, posture, communication and fine motor control as they work on their goals on horseback with the professional team of staff and volunteers.  It is rewarding to watch our client's faces as their comfort level  and confidence increase as they get to know 'their horse'. Who thought learning and therapy could be so much fun!"

Group Reservations

Quotes for organizations are personalized based on the specifications of each group including number of participants, duration of visit, and whether the activities are mounted or unmounted. In order to provide you with the best possible service and ensure an enjoyable visit for your participants we have outlined our process below.

Begin the Process

To begin the process, please send an email to info@eltrc.org with the following information:

  • Number of participants

  • Number of accompanying adults

  • Ideal date(s) for activity

  • One-time experience or recurring visits

  • Duration of visit (2 hours / half-day / full-day)

  • Mounted or unmounted (groundwork) activity

  • Full riding lesson / EAL session (45-60 minutes) or farm exploration including short pony ride & animated activities

  • Would you like our staff to visit with your participants prior the activity?

Please specify if you are looking for equine assisted therapy services (hippotherapy) as we will need additional information on the participants.

Based on the information you provide, our team will build you a quote including a schedule for the proposed activities, the staff who will be onsite, and any other inclusions for your group.

Participation Forms

Once the quote has been approved, the next step is to download and distribute our forms to your participants. Forms must be completed by each participant and submitted to Enfants en Équi-Libre minimum 7 days prior to your planned activity by mail, e-mail or dropped off at the center in person.

Please note: For the physical well-being and safety of the rider, horses, volunteers, instructors and therapists, the maximum weight of any rider must not exceed 160 pounds. Additionally, riders who have had a recent seizure will not be able to participate in mounted( riding) activities unless they have been seizure free for one year (without medication) or six months (with medication). We would be happy to organize unmounted special activities for any participants who are unable to ride.

Centre Policy to be reviewed prior to filling out the forms:

  • Centre Policy (become familiar with our policies and procedures prior to program entry)

Forms to be downloaded and returned to Équi-Libre:

Plan your visit

The ideal time to plan an activity in our center is from April to October to take advantage of our large property, walking trails, outdoor riding ring and much more! During the winter months, we can accommodate smaller groups in our indoor arena, our heated barn and our lounge.
